Here at TwoScots we like to think of ourselves as being “different” and wanting to “partner” with our clients, candidates and colleagues.
We value these long-term partnerships greatly. Yet, just as importantly, we value how closely we work internally as a tightly knit team. At TwoScots we don’t just pride ourselves on this fantastic team work, but we also pride ourselves on our unique team culture. We truly believe that this is the secret to our success.
Last weekend, we wanted to live up to our reputation, do something a little different, and raise the bar with our team bonding. The team have been working extremely hard recently and this surely deserves a reward, so for the past six months we have been running an exciting team incentive – “Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush” – which, if all targets were hit, meant that the team would win an all-expenses paid mystery weekend away. What’s not to like! Of course, being the high-achieving team we are, each target was smashed so early last Friday morning a tired but raring to go team met at Melbourne airport, where all was revealed – a luxury trip to Sydney!
There were smiles all round as we boarded the plane and headed over to the harbour city to let the fun begin. Having spoken about our “hostel” from the start, the look on everyone’s face when we walked up from Town Hall station and straight into the ‘5 Star’ Sheraton was just priceless.
After checking in, our shock and excitement was reaching fever pitch, when we announced that we had chartered our own 55 foot luxury boat, complete with skipper and crew, to cruise the harbour for the afternoon eating beautiful food, drinking from the well stocked bar and taking in the stunning sights of Sydney harbour.
The afternoon couldn’t have been any better; the sun came out, the harbour was at its finest and even the dolphins followed us. After a turnaround at the hotel which included sauna’s, jacuzzi’s, brief recovery sleeps for a couple of the more inebriated members and more cocktails at the bar, we were off to The Ivy for a delicious three course meal and a night of more partying, fun and the occasional “dance off” with the locals, in which we felt Sanjay more than held his own!
The morning after had a feeling of just that, but after a hotel buffet breakfast and brief stop at Circular Quay, we were on our way back to Melbourne. I can clearly picture turning around while flying back and seeing 10 sleeping TwoScots all catching a quick shut eye with smiles on their faces. TwoScots might be founded by two Scot’s but it’s all about those sleeping consultants working together and playing together to continue our ongoing growth and success.
