ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Accountant, you will play a key role within the firm's Business Advisory division, working closely with partners and senior leaders. This role offers a blend of compliance, financial reporting, and advisory work, making it an excellent step for someone looking for both technical growth and client-facing exposure.

You'll also have the chance to mentor junior accountants, contribute to client meetings, and support the delivery of high-quality outcomes across the portfolio.

DUTIES

  • Prepare financial statements and management reports in line with accounting standards
  • Prepare income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
  • Provide advice across a range of tax matters including GST, FBT, and CGT
  • Deliver business advisory support to a broad client base
  • Assist in client meetings and presentations alongside senior leaders
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Research and resolve complex accounting matters, providing recommendations
  • Produce clear, accurate workpapers and maintain strong documentation standards

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline
  • Progress towards CA or CPA qualification
  • 2+ years' experience in public practice accounting (Big 4, mid-tier, or boutique firm)
  • Strong technical knowledge across tax and accounting standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills
