ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Accountant, you will play a key role within the firm's Business Advisory division, working closely with partners and senior leaders. This role offers a blend of compliance, financial reporting, and advisory work, making it an excellent step for someone looking for both technical growth and client-facing exposure.
You'll also have the chance to mentor junior accountants, contribute to client meetings, and support the delivery of high-quality outcomes across the portfolio.
DUTIES
- Prepare financial statements and management reports in line with accounting standards
- Prepare income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
- Provide advice across a range of tax matters including GST, FBT, and CGT
- Deliver business advisory support to a broad client base
- Assist in client meetings and presentations alongside senior leaders
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Research and resolve complex accounting matters, providing recommendations
- Produce clear, accurate workpapers and maintain strong documentation standards
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline
- Progress towards CA or CPA qualification
- 2+ years' experience in public practice accounting (Big 4, mid-tier, or boutique firm)
- Strong technical knowledge across tax and accounting standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills
