Accounts Officer
Salary: $80-90k plus Super
Hours: Full time
Location: Melbourne, CBD
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As an Accounts Officer, you will manage the organisation's day-to-day finance functions. Working alongside the finance manager, your duties will include overseeing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and preparing accurate records for reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring payments and collections are accurate and completed on schedule.
- Maintain supplier and customer records, resolve discrepancies, and perform regular bank and account reconciliations.
- Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process, including onboarding, terminations, adjustments, and statutory obligations.
- Maintain compliance with payroll, taxation, and accounting regulations, keeping current with legislative changes.
- Prepare monthly financial and payroll reports and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Contribute to management reporting, budgeting, variance analysis, and audit preparation while ensuring data accuracy across system
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Payroll: Managed end-to-end payroll for 100 employees with full compliance.
Accounts Payable: Processed 50-100 invoices fortnightly (matching, coding, approvals, payments).
Financial Admin: Data entry, reconciliations, and record maintenance.
Customer Support: Accurate, confidential administrative assistance.
Bookkeeping: Solid knowledge of double-entry and general ledger reconciliation.
Tax & Compliance: Understanding of taxation and regulatory requirements.
