The Role
An opportunity is available for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join a complex organisation currently undertaking a significant program of project work and transformation.
With the business focused on delivering key initiatives, they require a strong AP leader to step in and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring continuity, stability and high performance throughout this period of change.
This role will suit someone who has led sizeable AP teams and enjoys improving processes, driving efficiencies and maintaining operational excellence within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
This role is a 4-6 month contract with potential to extend.
Key responsibilities
- Leading and overseeing the end-to-end Accounts Payable function in a high-volume environment
- Managing, mentoring and developing a team of six AP Officers
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments and reconciliations
- Maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Managing supplier relationships and resolving escalations or complex queries
- Monitoring KPIs and driving performance across the function
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk
- Supporting system optimisation and standardisation across multiple platform
Skill and Experience:
- 3-5 years experience managing a large, high-volume AP function
- Experience using Oracle is essential
- Strong people leadership and team development skills
- Experience working in complex or multi-entity environments
- Exposure to AP transformation, automation or process redesign
- Confident communicator who can influence at all levels
