About the role

Following internal movements, a rare opportunity has opened within the Credit and Collections team. Reporting to the Group Credit Manager, you will lead a team of eight plus Credit and Collections Officers, take ownership of key outcomes across recoveries and aged debt, and play a visible role with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor and develop a team of eight plus seniors and officers, fostering a high performance culture
  • Oversee end to end collections for major and minor accounts and aged debt
  • Manage relationships with external collection agencies and legal partners
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company policies
  • Partner with finance, sales and operations to align credit risk strategies with business goals
  • Prepare and present insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Engage with customers to negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes

Skills and experience

  • Eight plus years in credit and or collections with at least three years in a recent leadership role in a large organisation
  • Strong knowledge of credit management principles, debt recovery strategies and compliance
  • Managed accounts where customers buy on payment terms
  • Assessed or set credit limits and terms
  • Monitored overdue invoices and credit exposure
  • Used PPSR (Personal Property Securities Register) to secure interest over goods sold on credit
  • Proven track record lifting team performance and outcomes
  • Experience working across multiple large ERP systems
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced environment with competing priorities
