We're partnering with a leading, Australian-owned organisation with a significant national footprint to recruit a Credit Risk Officer for an initial 6 month contract, with strong potential to go permanent. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing, centralised Credit team within a values-driven, supportive business.

You'll enjoy a flexible start to the year with reduced office days in Jan and Feb and more work form home, a shutdown period across Christmas and New Year, and 4 days in office from March onwards.

About the Role

Reporting to the Credit & Risk Team Leader, you'll play a key role in maintaining strong governance, applying robust credit controls, and supporting profitable business growth. The role partners closely with operational teams, finance, shared services and external stakeholders to ensure credit decisions are timely, accurate and aligned with commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new account applications and oversee external recoveries in line with Group Credit policies
  • Maintain PPSR registrations and customer master data
  • Support regular credit limit reviews and broader portfolio assessments
  • Ensure data accuracy across ERP systems and uphold governance and compliance standards
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders across the network
  • Liaise confidently with external partners such as mercantile agents, legal providers and credit bureaus
  • Strengthen risk controls and contribute to disciplined credit decision making
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and greater operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in credit risk, new accounts, credit assessment or recoveries (ideally high-volume or trade credit)
  • Strong understanding of credit legislation, fair trading practices and recoveries processes
  • Proven ability to operate across large, complex ERP systems
  • Confident commercial judgement and strong risk assessment capability
  • Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Resilience and a solutions-focused approach when dealing with challenging scenarios
  • Availability for an immediate start, with Christmas-New Year period off
