Operating across multiple entities, this business manages a high-volume payroll environment and is looking to undertake significant transformation. Known for scale and complexity, the organisation is investing heavily in uplifting payroll capability and future-proofing operations through large, enterprise-level systems.

About the Role

Reporting into executive team and working closely with governance, compliance, finance and people teams, this Group Payroll Manager role is both operationally critical and strategically influential. You will oversee a large, high-volume, multi-entity payroll function while leading significant transformation initiatives, systems optimisation and process improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations across a complex, multi-entity environment
    * Manage and develop a large payroll leadership team (6 direct reports)
    * Drive payroll transformation initiatives, including systems, process redesign and optimisation
    * Partner closely with governance and compliance teams to manage risk and controls
    * Oversee payroll accuracy, timeliness and legislative compliance
    * Lead continuous improvement initiatives across payroll operations
    * Act as a senior payroll subject matter expert across the business

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience leading large, high-volume payroll functions
    * Strong background in complex, multi-entity environments
    * Demonstrated success delivering payroll transformation and change initiatives
    * Experience working with large, enterprise payroll systems
    * Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, risk management and governance
    * Confident leader with strong stakeholder management and communication skills
    * Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on operational levels
