ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Director, this Manager role will see you responsible for managing a client portfolio while leading and mentoring a team of accountants.
You will combine strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge with leadership and client advisory skills, helping clients navigate complex financial matters while supporting the development of junior team members.
This position will suit an experienced public practice professional who enjoys both client interaction and team leadership, and who is looking to take the next step in their career within a respected firm.
DUTIES
* Manage a portfolio of clients and maintain strong relationships
* Review financial statements, tax returns and compliance work
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
* Manage workflow, WIP and team productivity
* Oversee compliance engagements across companies, trusts and SMSFs
* Identify tax planning opportunities and provide advisory services
* Lead client meetings and act as a trusted advisor
* Support team training and professional development initiatives
* Identify opportunities to provide additional value-add services to clients
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* CA or CPA qualified
* 10+ years experience in public practice accounting
* Demonstrated experience managing a client portfolio
* Experience leading or mentoring a team of accountants
* Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation legislation
* Advanced knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Office / Excel
* Excellent communication and client relationship skills
* Strong organisational and leadership capabilities
