With a friendly, collaborative culture, they're looking for an experienced Payroll Operations Manager to oversee payroll across Australia, working closely with Finance and People & Culture teams.

About the Role:
In this role, you'll be responsible for managing the full payroll operation of a workforce over 2000, making sure everything runs smoothly, accurately, and on time across the national workforce. You'll lead a capable team, balancing hands-on management with bigger-picture planning, while working with key internal teams to keep improving how payroll is delivered and experienced by employees.
Duties:
* Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring compliance and accuracy
* Lead and support the payroll team, encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement
* Stay across Australian payroll legislation, awards, and taxation requirements
* Work closely with Finance and People & Culture on reporting, budgeting, and audits
* Identify opportunities to make payroll processes more efficient and effective
* Prepare payroll reports and insights for senior leaders
* Provide expert payroll advice and handle escalated queries
Skills and Experience:
* Solid experience managing payroll in a medium to large, multi-state organisation
* Strong knowledge of Australian payroll laws, modern awards, and compliance
* Experience leading or mentoring a payroll team
* Great attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Clear communicator who can work well with stakeholders at all levels
* Proven ability to drive improvements and manage change
