Are you passionate about ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in payroll operations? We are seeking an experienced Payroll Compliance Officer to join a well-established organisation in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of payroll legislation, audit processes, and internal controls.

About the Role:

  • Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with current legislation, including Fair Work, Superannuation, and ATO obligations
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies or irregularities
  • Maintain and update payroll policies, procedures, and documentation in line with regulatory changes
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors, and external bodies as required
  • Monitor system integrity and assist with implementing compliance improvements
  • Provide guidance and support to the payroll team on legislation and best practices
  • Support risk management initiatives and assist with internal or external payroll reviews

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in payroll compliance or a senior payroll role with compliance responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and EBAs
  • Experience with large payroll systems
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
