We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a leading organisation in the agriculture sector. With Dayforce already implemented as their HRIS, this role will lead the transition of payroll operations onto the Dayforce platform, before moving into a permanent leadership role within the team.

About the Role

Reporting into the Head of People, and working closely with the wider People Team, this Payroll Manager position offers a unique blend of project work and ongoing operational leadership. Your initial focus will be overseeing the successful migration of payroll onto the Dayforce platform, supported by the incumbent Payroll Manager. Once implemented, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll operations and lead a team of two, embedding continuous improvement initiatives across the function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project manage the transition of payroll processing to Dayforce
  • Collaborate with HR and IT to align payroll with existing HRIS functions
  • Manage and mentor two direct reports, supporting their development and performance
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end payroll processing
  • Conduct audits and ensure data integrity during and after transition
  • Interpret and apply complex EBAs and Awards
  • Ensure compliance with superannuation, tax, and legislative requirements
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across the APAC region to support business needs

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in payroll leadership, including managing a small team
  • Strong experience in end-to-end payroll within a medium-to-large organisation
  • Previous involvement in payroll system transitions, preferably to Dayforce
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Deep knowledge of employment legislation, awards, and EBAs
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
