We are partnering with a large financial services organisation to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer to join their growing payroll team in Sydney. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys managing multiple client payrolls and working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end processing for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. Working within a collaborative team, you will ensure payrolls are processed accurately, compliantly, and on time, while providing a high level of service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end processing of weekly high volume payroll
- Managing PAYG, superannuation, and statutory obligations
- Responding to and resolving client and employee payroll queries
- Ensuring payroll data integrity and maintaining accurate employee records
- Assisting with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits
- Supporting payroll system implementations, upgrades, or client transitions where required
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive payroll and client information
About You
- 5+ years experience in a Payroll Officer or Payroll Administrator role
- Experience processing payroll for multiple clients or large employee volumes
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance
- High attention to detail with excellent time management skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise professionally with clients
- Experience with payroll systems (e.g. Chris21, iChris, ADP, MicrOpay, Employment Hero, or similar)
