Due to an internal transition, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join the team on a temp to perm basis, with an immediate start available.

About the Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing high volume, end to end payroll processing on a fortnightly cycle. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidence interpreting EBAs and Awards, and the ability to work efficiently in a deadline driven environment.

Duties:

  • Manage high volume payroll processing on a fortnightly cycle

  • Interpreting and applying multiple EBAs and Awards

  • Responding to payroll enquiries and resolving issues efficiently

  • Processing employee lifecycle changes including onboarding and offboarding

  • Ensuring payroll compliance with relevant legislation

  • Completing payroll reconciliations and assisting with reporting requirements

  • Maintaining accurate payroll data, records, and leave balances

  • Providing support across payroll and HR functions as required

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in end to end payroll processing

  • Experience in a high volume payroll environment

  • Strong understanding of EBAs, Awards, and payroll legislation

  • Experience using iChris or Chris21 (highly desirable)

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving ability

  • Ability to work autonomously and meet strict payroll deadlines
