About the Company:
We're partnering with a well-established hospitality group seeking a proactive Payroll Team Leader to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role where your initiative, technical expertise, and decision-making skills will be highly valued.
About the Role:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for hotel employees across multiple properties, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with Australian legislation and hospitality awards/EA requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and support the payroll team, providing guidance on complex queries, award interpretation, and best-practice processes.
- Act as the escalation point for payroll-related issues, resolving discrepancies and delivering exceptional internal customer service to hotel leadership teams.
- Maintain and optimise payroll systems ensuring data integrity, troubleshooting issues, and supporting system enhancements or upgrades.
- Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and Hotel Managers to align payroll practices, improve processes, and support operational needs
- Ensure accurate payroll reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor compliance with taxation, superannuation, and Fair Work obligations, staying updated on relevant changes to legislation.
Skills and Experience
- Proven payroll leadership experience with hands-on processing capability
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with the ability to deal with escalations
- Experience with multi-entity, high-volume payroll
- Exposure to both Australian and New Zealand payroll is highly regarded
- Hospitality award interpretation experience beneficial
- Knowledge of iChris and Tanda is desired
