About the Role

Reporting into the Head of Payroll, this role will see you lead ANZ payroll operations while managing two direct reports. You'll play a key role in ensuring seamless day-to-day payroll delivery, while also uplifting team capability, partnering closely with People & Culture and Finance, and contributing to projects and compliance initiatives. The role offers a strong balance between operational leadership, team development and continuous improvement.

Duties

  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance
  • Manage, coach and develop two direct reports, fostering engagement and capability uplift
  • Partner closely with People & Culture and Finance to support reporting, audits and payroll outcomes
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex payroll queries and advisory matters
  • Drive continuous improvement across payroll processes, controls and systems
  • Contribute to payroll-related projects, including system enhancements and global initiatives
  • Maintain strong governance, compliance and risk management across payroll operations

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience leading payroll operations in a complex ANZ environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and compliance
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to uplift and influence a team
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on payroll management with project and improvement work
  • Collaborative communicator who builds strong relationships across P&C and Finance
  • Resilient, dynamic and adaptable, with experience working through change or transformation
