About the Company:
We're partnering with a well-established manufacturing company seeking a proactive Payroll Team Leader to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role where your initiative, technical expertise, and decision-making skills will be highly valued.
About the Role:
- Own end-to-end payroll delivery for Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance with legislation, and appropriate payroll controls across all pay cycles
- Lead the ongoing management and optimisation of Paytools, including maintaining payroll checklists, ensuring consistent system use, managing key payroll dates, and improving automated notifications.
- Oversee employee data maintenance in the payroll system, ensuring changes such as remuneration and bank details are accurate, authorised, and processed correctly.
- Act as the primary payroll point of escalation for the business, building strong partnerships with HR, Finance, and operational leaders, and ensuring payroll advice is accurate, timely, and clearly communicated.
- Lead, mentor, and support the payroll team, providing guidance on complex queries, award interpretation, and best-practice processes.
- Monitor compliance with taxation, superannuation, and Fair Work obligations, staying updated on relevant changes to legislation.
Skills and Experience
- Proven payroll leadership experience with hands-on processing capability
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with the ability to deal with escalations
- Experience with various complex EAs and Industrial Instruments
- Exposure to both Australian and New Zealand payroll is highly regarded
- Hospitality award interpretation experience beneficial
- Knowledge of MicrOpay and ConnX are desirable, not essential
