Melbourne | Full-time | Career-defining role

Do you love turning messy, imperfect data into simple, powerful insights that help a business transform?

We're partnering with a leading organisation undergoing significant transformation within their Shared Services function. This role sits at the heart of their data, operations, and AP/AR workflows, ideal for someone who is technically strong and brilliant with people.

Why this role is exciting:

  • You become the source of truth for all operational data
  • You get to design, improve and automate processes that impact thousands of customers
  • You'll work closely with the BI team while also speaking the language of operations
  • You'll help shape a modern shared services environment environment, where tools like Power Automate and Power BI are used to rethink old-school processes
  • You'll operate in an evolving and imperfect landscape, and be empowered to make it better

What you'll be doing:

  • Pulling, validating, and interpreting data (SQL, Power BI, Power Query) to support decision-making
  • Creating reporting packs and dashboards - aged debt, overdue trends, reminder workflows, group-level credit packs
  • Translating complex data into simple, user-friendly insights for stakeholders who aren't Excel/tech savvy
  • Building and automating solutions that replace outdated processes (e.g., mass reminder letters, mail merge replacements through Power Automate)
  • Partnering with operations to understand what they're seeing, challenge the data, and find practical solutions
  • Identifying inaccuracies in data input and working with teams to correct and improve them
  • Working across the full shared services function activities as the team continues its transformation

What makes you successful in this role:

Someone who is technically strong and operationally intelligent but someone who can interpret data, communicate clearly, and influence outcomes.

You will thrive here if you:

  • Have experience in a high-volume operational environment (AP, credit, operations support, etc.)
  • Are a proactive problem solver, someone who brings solutions, not just questions
  • Are comfortable working in ambiguity or less-than-perfect systems and helping to improve them
  • Learn quickly, think practically, and enjoy modernising old processes
  • Can explain complex information in a clear, simple way

Tech you'll use:

  • Excel (expert level)
  • Power Query
  • SQL
  • Power BI
