Bookkeeper - Payroll & Accounts
$80,000 - $90,000 + Super | Full-Time | On-Site Parking
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Bookkeeper / Payroll & Accounts Administrator to join a well-established and growing organisation.
This is a full-time, office-based position offering a modern and supportive workplace, on-site parking, and the opportunity to work across a diverse finance function.
About the Role
This role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate payroll processing while also managing end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in accuracy, organisation, and delivering excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
- Support the processing of fortnightly payroll for up to 150 employees across multiple states
- Assist with payroll administration for both permanent employees and contractors
- Review and follow up timesheets, allowances, leave records, rosters, and payroll inputs
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records
- Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting, superannuation, payroll tax, and compliance requirements
- Respond to payroll queries and escalate complex matters when required
Accounts Payable
- End-to-end accounts payable processing
- Raise purchase orders and match supplier invoices to approved POs
- Accurate general ledger coding of invoices
- Manage supplier onboarding and supplier account maintenance
- Process payment runs and maintain aged payables reporting
- Respond to supplier enquiries and reconcile supplier accounts
- Support cash flow reporting and payment scheduling
Accounts Receivable
- End-to-end accounts receivable processing
- Daily invoicing across multiple business entities
- Process receipts and remittances
- Manage debtor follow-up and overdue accounts
- Complete credit applications and conduct customer due diligence
- Assist with month-end accounts receivable reporting
- Support project teams with invoicing and client account administration
Month-End & Finance Administration
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Credit card reconciliations and expense processing
- Support payroll journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain financial registers and records
- Assist with month-end reporting activities
- Manage shared finance inboxes and ensure requests are actioned promptly
- Contribute to process improvements and workflow enhancements across payroll and finance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Bookkeeper, Accounts Officer, or similar position
- Strong payroll experience supporting the processing of medium-volume payrolls
- Experience working with employees across multiple states and pay conditions
- Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
- Exposure to payroll compliance, superannuation, leave management, and payroll reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Systems Experience
Experience using payroll and accounting systems such as Xero, Employment Hero, MYOB, Pronto, SAP, Dynamics, or similar ERP platforms will be highly regarded. Candidates who have worked across multiple systems and can adapt quickly to new technologies will be viewed favourably.
