Our client is a reputable and growing organisation within the utilities industry, delivering essential services to communities across Australia and New Zealand.

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

About the Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll across a high-volume workforce. This role will see you working closely with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure payroll obligations are met and employees are paid accurately.

Key responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end payroll processing across weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles
  • Accurate calculation and processing of superannuation, PAYG tax and payroll-related deductions
  • Management of leave calculations, including annual leave, personal leave, parental leave and long service leave
  • Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and stakeholders in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies
  • Assisting with payroll reporting, reconciliations and month-end processes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a high-volume end-to-end payroll position
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation requirements
  • Experience working to strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
